Heirloom tree(s)
A family lost both parents within a month of each other. The family home was being cleaned up and put up for sale. Part of the cleanup process involved pruning an old walnut tree which had been in the front yard throughout the now adult children’s lives.
A large branch of that tree came to us. Rather than viewing it as a chunk of walnut to make in to drawers or something else, we made the branch in to small trees for each of the surviving siblings, with a layer on each tree representing each of them. One tree was made special with 10 layers, to include the parents.
We made every effort to ensure each tree was unique, each a little bent or broken, and showing the scars of life.
It was our honor to provide each of the siblings a way to keep a piece of the tree they passed every time they came home.
